River levels are currently rising on the River Rother between Chesterfield to Whittington due to widespread rainfall today and into this evening, Saturday 09/12/2023.
Flooding is possible from 6 PM to 2 AM on 09/12/2023 to 10/12/2023, with a peak expected in Chesterfield at 11 PM. Further rainfall is forecast overnight with weather remaining unsettled throughout the rest of the weekend.
We will continue to monitor rainfall and river levels closely.

As further rainfall is forecast over the coming days, we will continue to closely monitor rainfall and river levels. River levels are rising on the River Whitting, River Drone, River Hipper, River Rother due to widespread rainfall today, Thursday 07/12/2023. Areas most at risk include River Rother from Chesterfield to Staveley, including the Rivers Hipper, Drone and Whitting.
We currently expect levels to peak this evening and overnight before falling into Friday morning (08/12/2023), but we do not expect to issue any flood warnings at this time.

River levels have continued to fall in the Upper River Rother catchment and the risk of further flooding has significantly reduced. This alert remains in force as further rainfall is forecast tonight and into tomorrow, which may cause river levels to rise from mid-morning. This is a shorter, much less intense period of rainfall than last weekend so we do not expect the river level rise to bring significant impacts.

River levels have continued to fall throughout Sunday and are expected to continue to do so tomorrow, Monday 23rd October. The risk of flooding has passed for now, although rivers will be very receptive to any further rainfall.
Our incident room remains open and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. We have been out checking our flood defences and visiting areas affected by the flooding on Friday. We have been liaising closely with our partners and are mobilising pumps to help move standing water away from Tapton Terrace area.

River levels are rising on the River Whitting, River Drone, River Hipper and River Rother due to heavy persistent showers which are expected to continue through the night.
Areas most at risk include River Rother from Chesterfield to Staveley, including the Rivers Hipper, Drone and Whitting. We currently expect rivers to peak in the early hours of Tuesday morning (1/11/2022).

River levels have risen as a result of localised thunderstorms. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible from 20:00 this evening. Areas most at risk are Parkland at Saint Augustine's.
Further thunderstorms are forecast over the next 18 hours, with low confidence over exact timing and locations. We expect river levels to remain high into tomorrow, 17/08/2022.

River levels have risen as a result of Storm Dennis. Further rainfall is expected throughout Sunday, 16/02/2020. Based on the current forecast, river levels are expected to peak this morning, 16/02/2020. There are flood warnings in force for central Chesterfield, Tapton and Staveley. The risk of flooding to low-lying land and roads remains, with the area at most risk Parkland at Saint Augustine's. We are closely monitoring the situation and our Leeds incident room remains open. A band of rain has now moved across South Yorkshire/Derbyshire this evening (14th November) and scattered showers are forecast overnight tonight. The Upper Rother has now peaked but given the wet ground conditions, we expect local rivers to fall slowly into Friday 15th November. This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high levels expected on the River Rother later today, 14/11/2019. A band of rain is moving across South Yorkshire/Derbyshire this afternoon into the evening, followed by showers overnight and into tomorrow, 15/11/2019. Given the wet ground conditions, we expect local rivers to respond and rise steadily from late Thursday afternoon onwards, however river levels are not expected to reach heights seen last week 7/11/2019. We currently expect to see peak levels on the River Rother through Chesterfield around 7-8 pm this evening,
We are monitoring the situation as our incident room is open 24/7, and are continuing to liaise closely with our partners. Consequently, flooding of roads and low-lying land is possible from this morning (7th November) until approximately 09:00 tomorrow, 08/11/19. Areas most at risk are low-lying areas. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 09:00 on 08/11/19. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident room is open. There is the potential for flood warnings to be issued. The highest river levels are likely to be seen this evening and overnight.
