River levels have fallen following yesterday’s heavy and persistent rainfall. Further rain is expected today, Tuesday 1/10/24. Whilst rivers may respond to this, we are not expecting levels to rise significantly. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Surface water may continue to affect low spots on roads. Please take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Areas most at risk are low-lying land and roads near rivers, including the area around the B6098.

Rising river levels throughout this evening, as a result of persistent rainfall, may lead to flooding. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible. Surface Water flooding may be possible.
Weather conditions are expected to improve overnight and into tomorrow morning, 01/10/2024, and no further significant rainfall is expected over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Sheaf, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around River Sheaf and its tributaries, parkland and sports fields. River levels are forecast to rise on the River Sheaf due to widespread rainfall today, Saturday 09/12/2023.
Areas most at risk include River Sheaf and its tributaries.
Flooding is possible from 6 PM to 6 AM on 09/12/2023 to 10/12/2023, with a peak in Sheffield at 10 PM. Further rainfall is forecast overnight with weather remaining unsettled throughout the rest of the weekend.

River levels are rising on Porter Brook, River Sheaf due to heavy showers which will continue through the night.
Areas most at risk include River Sheaf, Porter Brook and their tributaries. We currently expect rivers to peak in the early hours of Tuesday morning (1/11/2022).

River levels have now fallen below the flood risk threshold, and we expect to remove this flood alert in the morning (22/02/2022).
Although further unsettled weather and showers are forecast, we are not expecting any further significant rainfall. Given the stormy conditions, stay well away from swollen watercourses and flood water and be aware of debris and surface water affecting roads. We are closely monitoring the forecast and will issue further flood alerts and warnings if required over the next few days.

River levels have risen as a result of persistent (heavy) rainfall overnight and this morning, Sunday 20th February. Due to the saturated conditions and thawing of any lying snow, river levels are likely to be particularly high throughout today. We are monitoring the situation closely on a 24 hour basis and will issue flood warnings if properties and parts of communities are expected to flood. Further rain is forecast and we currently expect river levels to peak again from 4pm today, 20/02/2022, and remain high overnight into Monday. Areas most at risk initially are low lying land and roads.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Consider taking appropriate steps to prepare for possible flooding, such as moving things upstairs and getting flood protection equipment ready to put in place.

River levels are expected to rise as a result of persistent (heavy) rainfall which is forecast to start around midnight and continue through much of tomorrow, Sunday 20th February.
Due to the saturated conditions and thawing of any lying snow, rivers will respond readily to this rainfall and are likely to be particularly high through the afternoon, evening and overnight into Monday.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will issue flood warnings if properties and parts of communities are expected to flood. We currently expect to see river levels peak in Sheffield mid- afternoon. Areas most at risk initially are low lying land and roads.

Following recent rainfall which has left ground saturated, river levels have risen as a result of Storm Dennis. Sustained rainfall is expected through tonight, 15/02/20, and into Sunday morning.
Based on the current forecast, river levels are expected to level out and may fall slightly in response to breaks in rainfall later this evening, but will then rise as further rainfall falls throughout the night. River levels are expected to peak and begin to fall at around 06:00 tomorrow, 16/02/20.
Currently, peak levels are expected to be below those seen during Storm Ciara.
The risk of flooding to low-lying land and roads remains this evening and into Sunday.

Rainfall associated with Storm Dennis is forecast to intensify from midday today, 15 February 2020. The current forecast indicates that the river response will begin later this afternoon and is likely to peak in the early hours of Sunday, 16 February. Flooding of properties, roads, parklands and sports fields is possible this evening and into Sunday.
We have staff in the field and are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. If you observe flood waters, please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near watercourses.
