Flooding is likely for the Kingsbridge and Avon Estuaries over the high tide on Friday morning. High water at Plymouth is at 08:30BST, times of High Water will vary along the coast. Strong Southerly winds up to Force 8 and offshore wave heights of up to 4m are forecast which may cause wave overtopping of sea defences. Expect tides to be up to 400mm higher than predicted on tide tables. Forecast heavy rain, in combination with the high tide, may cause localised flooding in lower lying areas of Kingsbridge and Salcombe. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Environment Agency staff will continue to monitor tide levels, and issue updates as required. Detailed tide information for those who use it: The forecast high tide level is 2.85 m AOD, this is 400mm above astronomical tide level. Wind speeds peak at southerly Force 8.

Flooding is expected for the Kingsbridge and Avon Estuaries over the high tide on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. High water at Plymouth is at 19:00 hours Saturday and 07:15 hours Sunday. Times of high water will vary along the coast. Force 3 Southerly winds and offshore wave heights of 1.1m are forecast Saturday night. Force 6 South South Easterly winds and wave heights of 3m are forecast Sunday morning. Expect tides to be around 430mm higher than predicted due to conditions. Flooding is possible two hours either side of the high tide. This may cause localised standing water on roads. Coastal conditions should ease for Sunday evening’s high tide, we will continue to monitor the situation and will issue updates as required. Detailed tidal information; The forecast Saturday high tide level at Plymouth is 2.78mAOD, this is 0.340 metres above astronomical tide level. The forecast Sunday morning tide is 3.06mAOD, this is 0.43m above astronomical.
