Gale force 8 North Westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 3.8m are forecast to cause flooding to properties in Lynmouth. Conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide. Expect tides to be around 200 mm higher than predicted due to weather conditions. Large waves and spray are likely so take care near coastal paths and promenades. This may cause localised standing water on roads near The Esplanade, Riverside Road and Lynmouth Street is likely. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Force 6 south westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 2.6 m are forecast on Wednesday morning. This may cause localised standing water on roads near The Esplanade, Riverside Road and Lynmouth Street. Do not drive through flood water. Storm Force 10 south westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 7m are forecast. Conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide. Expect tides to be around 0.7m higher than predicted due to weather conditions. Large waves and spray are likely, expect debris to be thrown up by wave action at exposed locations along the North Devon Coast. Expect localised flooding of the Esplanade and Riverside Road. Take care near coastal paths and promenades. Do not drive through flood water or waves. Please be aware of the dangers caused by strong winds, particularly in exposed locations. However conditions may apply two hours either side of the high tide. Large waves and spray are likely so take care near coastal paths and promenades. The tidal gates at Instow, Ilfracombe and Cheyne Beach have been closed. High water at Ilfracombe is at 20:45. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. Times of high water will vary along the coast. Tide levels are rising towards spring tides which peak on Friday. Storm Ellen is forecast to bring force 6 to 7 south westerly winds and large waves which are expected to cause wave overtopping and sea spray in exposed locations. Standing water near the Esplanade, Riverside Road and Lynmouth Street is likely. Avoid low lying and exposed coastal areas.
