Flooding is expected on Friday evening into Saturday. Heavy rain in the Torridge area overnight Thursday into Friday has caused the River Torridge to rise throughout today and the flood peak is traveling downstream. Flooding is expected in properties and low lying areas in Taddiport (properties around Taddiport Bridge, Sewage Treatment Works and B3227) and Weare Giffard (riverside properties and roads). Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated as the situation changes.

Flooding is expected on Friday morning and over lunchtime. Heavy rain falling in the Torridge area overnight has caused the River Torridge to rise. Flooding is expected in properties and low lying areas in Taddiport (properties around Taddiport Bridge, Sewage Treatment Works and B3227) and Weare Giffard (riverside properties and roads). Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. River Torridge
The heavy persistent rainfall experienced on Wednesday has cleared the area. There is potential for some areas to experience heavy showers late this evening and overnight into Thursday. However, river levels on the Torridge have now reached their highest level and are beginning to fall. Levels will continue to fall overnight and the Flood Alert and Warning for this area will be removed tomorrow morning. Standing water and flooding to low lying land and roads is still expected until the early hours of Thursday morning.

River levels on the Torridge are continuing to steadily rise following the rainfall experienced throughout the day. River levels are forecast to reach their highest level between 16:30 and 20:00 this afternoon. Flooding to low lying land and roads is expected, and is likely to affect properties close to the river in the Weare Giffard area. River levels will remain high throughout the evening and will steadily fall overnight. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. This message will be updated on Wednesday afternoon or earlier if the situation changes
