Flood Warning issued on 30 Sep 2019 13:21
Flooding is expected for the Tidal River Taw over the high tide on Monday evening. High water at Ilfracombe is at 8pm, times of high water will vary along the coast.
Gale force 6 south westerly winds are forecast to cause high levels, waves and spray in the Taw estuary. There is potential for flooding to properties at Bishops Tawton including areas around the A377 (New Road), School Lane, Easter Street and Sanders Lane. Take care near coastal paths and promenades. This may cause localised standing water on roads along the valley bottom. Do not drive through flood water or waves.
Coastal conditions should ease after this evening’s high tide, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and will issue updates if the situation changes.
Detailed tidal information for those who use it; The forecast high tide level is 5.61 mAOD, this is 0.23 metres above astronomical tide level.
