Flooding is possible in the early hours of Saturday morning. A heavy band of frontal rain will cross Devon overnight with higher accumulations over Dartmoor. River levels are already high and will rise again, resulting in flooding of low lying land and roads. Spray, large puddles and standing water are likely to lead to difficult travel conditions. Light rain will continue to fall throughout Friday evening, followed by a front of heavy rain in the early hours of Saturday morning. Take care near areas of concern, and monitor your local weather conditions. Environment Agency staff are monitoring river levels, and will update this message on Saturday morning.

Rain will continue to fall across South Devon and Dartmoor throughout Friday and continue into the early hours of Saturday morning. Flooding is possible on Friday morning. A heavy band of frontal rain will cross South Devon and Dartmoor overnight. River levels will rise resulting in flooding of low lying land and roads. Flooding is possible overnight Sunday into Monday. Catchments are already wet and rain is forecast overnight on Sunday into Bank Holiday Monday. It’s possible that 30 mm or more could fall overnight across much of Devon. Flooding is possible on low lying land and roads. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We have staff on standby ready to check and clear blockages if necessary. River levels have now receded across much of the South Devon Rivers following heavy rainfall earlier over the last few days. Further rainfall is expected this afternoon and will leave the area by the afternoon of Monday 12th March. River levels will rise again in response to this rain, and will remain high. Peak levels are expected overnight tonight into Monday morning. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected. Further showers are predicted throughout Monday morning and Wednesday next week. This will keep river levels high throughout that period. Please take care and monitor your local weather conditions. Rivers have responded to a band of heavy rainfall overnight last night. Further rainfall is forecast for today, maintaining these high river levels throughout the day. Flooding to low-lying land and roads is expected. Further showers are expected throughout the weekend into the early part of next week, some of which may be heavy. Flooding is possible overnight from Friday 9th March into morning of Saturday 10th March due to prolonged heavy rainfall, causing river levels to rise in the South Devon area. Flooding to low-lying land and roads is expected. Further showers are expected throughout the weekend into the early part of next week, some of which may be heavy. Flooding is possible on Thursday 4th January. Over the last 24 hours we have seen heavy rainfall in the River Harbourne area. This has meant that the River Harbourne is now rising. The main area of concern is Crowdy Mill, where levels suggest that there will be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river on Thursday morning. We expect the river to remain high throughout today though no flooding to properties is forecast and warnings are not expected to be issued. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We are constantly monitoring river levels. Flooding is possible from late evening on Saturday 30th December through to the morning of Sunday 31st December due to prolonged heavy rainfall which is expected to cause river levels to rise in the south Devon area. At present the expected river levels suggest that there may be flooding to low-lying land and roads. The main area of concern is the River Harbourne at Harbertonford. Further showers are expected throughout Sunday and New Year’s Day, some of which may be heavy. River levels are likely to remain high throughout this period. There is a band of unsettled weather forecast to cross the area during Tuesday evening. Flooding is possible. Catchments are saturated after yesterday’s rainfall. We expect rivers to remain high throughout the rest of Boxing Day and throughout the night, though no flooding to properties is forecast and warnings are not currently expected to be issued. Take care near low-lying land and roads, and monitor your local weather conditions. We are constantly monitoring river levels and staff are available in the area to check that our flood defences are operating effectively.
