Flooding is possible for high tides on Thursday the 20th and Friday the 21st of August. High spring tides coinciding with strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding, particularly on Friday morning. High water at Exmouth is at 21:00 on Thursday and 09:30 on Friday morning. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. Times of high water will vary along the coast. Tide levels are rising towards spring tides which peak on Friday. Storm Ellen is forecast to bring force 6 to 8 south to south westerly winds and large waves which are expected to cause wave overtopping and sea spray in exposed locations. Avoid low lying and exposed coastal areas. We will monitor the situation and will update by 1pm on Friday. The forecast high tide level at Exmouth is 2.62 and 2.51 mAOD for Thursday PM and Friday AM. This is 0.34 and 0.46 metres above the respective astronomical tide level.

Tides will be at their highest between 07:00 and 09:00 tomorrow, 05/04/19. Property flooding is not expected. Low lying coastal roads and exposed locations might be affected. Our incident response staff have closed flood defence gates where necessary and we are continuing to monitor tide levels.
