Friday - Strong force 6 easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 2.2m. Saturday - force 5 ENE winds and offshore wave heights of 1.6m. Both tides are forecast to cause wave overtopping of sea defences and sea spray in exposed coastal locations at Torbay, minor road flooding expected. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on local radio. We will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as required. Detailed tidal information for those who use it; The forecast high tide level at Exmouth on Friday evening is 2.19 mAOD, this is 0.39 metres above astronomical tide level. Flooding is possible over the morning tide at 08:00 on Friday 5th April. High spring tides and strong winds means there is a low risk of spray overtopping. Tides will be at their highest between 07:00 and 09:00 tomorrow, 05/04/19. Property flooding is not expected. Low lying coastal roads and exposed locations might be affected. Our incident response staff have closed flood defence gates where necessary and we are continuing to monitor tide levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 05/04/19, or as the situation changes.
