River Yealm
Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. Flooding is expected from the early hours of 16 December 2025 . The period of heavy rain is expected to clear by around midnight, although heavy showers are expected to follow into the night. Rivers levels are expected to respond to this further rainfall. Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 12:30am and 01:30am. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Sandpark Wood at Yealmbridge, and Mill Leat Close, Torr Bridge Park and Boldventure at Yealmpton. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be at their highest around 3am. We are closely monitoring the situation . Monitor local water levels and weather conditions and activate any flood protection products you may have. This message will be updated by 12:00PM on 16 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
River Yealm
Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. Flooding is expected from overnight on 08 December 2025 . Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from the early hours of Tuesday morning. The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Sandpark Wood at Yealmbridge, and Mill Leat Close, Torr Bridge Park and Boldventure at Yealmpton. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 3am and 6am. This Flood Warning has been issued based off of the current forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation . Start acting on your flood plan if you have one . This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 09 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
River Yealm
Flooding is expected on the afternoon of Thursday 7th December, and into the evening. Heavy rain falling in the area over Thursday daytime has caused the River Yealm to rise, and the river is forecast to continue rising through the day. Properties and low-lying areas around Sandpark Wood at Yealmbridge, and Mill Leat Close, Torr Bridge Park and Boldventure at Yealmpton will start to flood first from around 3.45pm today. River levels will be at their highest between 5pm and 7pm. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the day. This message will be updated by Friday morning, or earlier if the situation changes. Our staff are out in the area and will relay information and assist the emergency services and council.
River Yealm
Flooding is expected on late Sunday evening into the early hours of Monday morning. Heavy rain has fallen in the area throughout Sunday and the river Yealm has crossed through flood alert and river levels are currently high. We expect river levels to continue to rise in response to further rainfall this evening. Flooding to property is possible. Properties and low lying areas around Sandpark Wood at Yealmbridge, and Mill Leat Close, Torr Bridge Park and Boldventure at Yealmpton are at risk of flooding first. River levels will be at their highest overnight and will remain elevated throughout Monday 19th December. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now and install property flood resilience. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
