High tides are expected to cause flooding this evening. Flooding is expected two hours either side of high tide, high tide expected 10:24PM. Areas most at risk include The Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor. Strong winds as part of Storm Goretti are expected to impact this evening's tides. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level of 1.81 mAODN at 10:24PM, with force 8 north-westerly winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.). After the high tide this evening, the weather is more settled. We are closely monitoring the situation . Activate any flood protection products you may have and avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded. Waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at The Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor. Flooding is affecting The Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor from 6:30 PM on 28/03/2024. The forecast is for south-southwesterly force 8 winds this evening. After this tide‚ the weather is more settled and no further impacts are expected. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. Forecast high water is 07:55 on 18/02/18 with a level of 1.84 mAOD and Force 8 south westerlies. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Weymouth gauge. Flooding to roads is possible, however conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding at the Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences.
