River levels are rising rapidly on the River Bride. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Bride, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Bridelands and Lower Farm in Long Bredy, Bride Valley Nursery in Litton Cheney and Water Lane Fish Farm in Swyre. Flooding of property is expected from 01:00 PM on 31/10/2021. Further light rainfall is forecast this afternoon. River levels are high and forecast to rise further at the Burton Bradstock gauge. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this warning if necessary. River levels have risen rapidly as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding could occur from 12:45 today, 05/03/20. Areas most at risk are Bridelands and Lower Farm in Long Bredy, Bride Valley Nursery in Litton Cheney and Water Lane Fish Farm in Swyre. River levels can rise very quickly in response to heavy rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please consider installing property flood resilience equipment and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures.
