High river levels are causing flooding throughout the afternoon. Flooding is expected to continue until 10:00 AM on 27/11/2024. Areas most at risk include River Glade, Dukesfield, Squirrels Cl, Stour Way, Links Dr, Burford Cl, Cedar Av, Chestnut Av, Beech Av, Sycamore Cl, River Way, Hurn Way, Wilton Cl, Stourcroft Dr, Crossways, De Redvers Court, Oak Av, The Grove and Stourvale Ave in Christchurch. Further rainfall of 10-15mm is forecast overnight which may keep river levels high. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and liaising with emergency services and local authorities. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Refer to local authority website for road closures. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car. Further flooding is expected overnight as river levels are high and forecast to rise further due to previous heavy rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation and liaising with emergency services and local authorities. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Activate any property flood protection products you may have. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. No further rainfall is forecast. River levels are high and forecast to rise further. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for River Glade, Dukesfield, Squirrels Cl, Stour Way, Links Dr, Burford Cl, Cedar Av, Chestnut Av, Beech Av, Sycamore Cl, River Way, Hurn Way, Wilton Cl, Stourcroft Dr, Crossways, De Redvers Court, Oak Av, The Grove and Stourvale Ave in Christchurch We expect river levels to continue to rise through this afternoon and through the night on 17/2/20. Our incident response staff are in contact with community flood wardens and volunteers. Please can owners with property flood resilience equipment install it now.
