High river levels are expected to cause flooding today.  Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 .  River levels are rising rapidly on the River Winniford due to heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk include North Chideock, Fairfax and Main Street Chideock. Flooding is expected at North Chideock, Fairfax and Main Street Chideock.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded Don't put yourself or others at risk.  This message will be updated by 4:30PM on 27 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

River levels are rising rapidly on the River Winniford due to heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk include North Chideock, Fairfax and Main Street Chideock. Flooding is expected at North Chideock, Fairfax and Main Street Chideock from 1:00 PM on 21/02/2024. Further rainfall is forecast this morning. River levels are rising rapidly at the Chideock gauge. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. River levels are expected to remain high and flooding of properties will continue. Further heavy rainfall is forecast this afternoon. River levels are rising rapidly at the Chideock gauge.
