Monday evening and Tuesday morning's tides are forecast to be high due to spring tides. Areas most at risk include areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick area. The first peak high water level at Christchurch is at 10:45 PM on 08/04/2024 with a level of 1.6 mAOD with southerly force 8 winds. The second peak high water level is at 10:45 AM on 09/04/2024, with a level of 1.39 mAOD with westerly force 6 winds. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of these times. Large waves are expected. High tide levels may prevent rivers from flowing to the sea and cause rivers to rise. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff will be closing flood gates. If you have not already done so, please consider installing property flood resilience equipment. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. We expect flooding to affect areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas Willow Way (Quomps), including Watermead and Kingfishers developments.
Weather conditions are expected to produce large offshore waves.
High tide levels may prevent rivers from flowing to the sea and cause rivers to rise.

Friday morning's tide at 9:15 AM is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with south-westerly force 6 winds and large waves.
Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.
Highest tide level of 1.61m AOD is expected to be at areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick area at 9:15 AM on 08/02/2024. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time.
Weather conditions are expected to produce large onshore waves.
We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next 3 days and may issue further alerts/warnings.
We are closing locks and flood gates in the area.
We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary.

Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Christchurch Tide Gauge. Flooding is possible at this time, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas.

The forecast wind is Force 5 Southerly. Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Christchurch Tide Gauge. Flooding is possible at this time, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas. Coastal conditions should ease for the evening tide on Thursday, but will deteriorate by the weekend with the arrival of storm Dennis.
