Storm Eunice is bringing gale force winds across Dorset on Friday and Saturday, coinciding with spring tides. A tidal surge will increase the water levels and overtopping of sea defences is possible. The forecast high water is at 10:21 am on 18/02/22 with a level of 1.52 mAOD and Force 9 south westerlies. All times are local and refer to the high water time at the Christchurch Harbour gauge. Flooding to roads and properties is possible and can be one or two hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding to affect areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. The high tide at 00:30 AM on Wednesday will be higher than normal due to stormy conditions associated with Storm Barra. South-westerly force 8 winds and large waves will produce a swell within the harbour. Areas most at risk include The Quomps, Mudeford and the Stanpit area Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert if necessary. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. People in the areas should consider taking action now. We urge all people to take care and not drive or walk through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on 08/12/2021, or as the situation changes.

The forecast high water time is 09:20 am on Sunday, 31/10/2021 and the forecast tide level is now 1.5 m AOD. The forecast wind is Force 6 South westerlies. Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Christchurch Tide Gauge. Flooding is possible at this time, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas. The forecast wind is Force 5 East North Easterly. Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Christchurch Tide Gauge. Flooding is possible at this time, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas. Some overtopping of sea defences is expected as a result of high tides and a tidal surge. The forecast high water is 13:00 on Thursday, 13/02/2020 and the forecast tide level is 1.56 m AOD. The forecast wind is Force 5 Southerly. Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Christchurch Tide Gauge. Flooding is possible at this time, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick areas. Coastal conditions should ease for the evening tide on Thursday, but will deteriorate by the weekend with the arrival of storm Dennis. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the situation along the Dorset Coast. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. The forecast wind is Force 6 from the South West . Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Christchurch. Flooding to roads and farmland//properties is possible//forecast at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. A large tidal surge is expected to affect Christchurch Harbour as a result of high spring tides and low pressure tomorrow morning 27/11/2019. High water is at around 9:39am in the morning of 27/11/2019 predicted at 1.6 m above ordnance datum. This message is relevant for undefended areas of Christchurch affecting Willow Way and areas of Stanpit and Mudeford. Flooding to roads and property is possible and may apply two to four hours either side of the high tides. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closing gates. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. Flooding of harbourside areas is possible between 10:00 and 15:00 tomorrow, 02/11/19 as a result of high tides and strong winds. The forecast tide level is 1.42 m AOD at 12:45 Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Christchurch Harbour. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon, Areas of particular concern include The Quomps, Stanpit and Mudeford Quay. High tide levels may prevent rivers from flowing to the sea and cause the river Avon to rise. We are closely monitoring the situation. The following Flood Warning will remain in force for two hours following the time of high tide. Flooding may already be affecting properties, low lying areas and roads. The time and date of the forecast high water for which this Flood Warning is in force is: 9:45 pm on Friday 9th November. The forecast wind direction is Southerly, Force 9 The public are advised to stay away from the Quomps and Mudeford Quay areas as the combination of high tide levels, large waves and very strong, gale force winds will be extremely dangerous.
