English Channel

High tides are expected to cause flooding this evening.  Flooding is expected from 8:15pm to 11:15PM on 23/1/26.  Areas most at risk include areas of Lyme Regis around the Harbour. The detailed tidal forecast for this evening's high tide at 9:30PM is for a peak level of 7.25 mAODN forecast total water level, with force 8 South Easterly winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.). Large offshore waves above 5.5m can be expected tonight.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .  This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 24 January 2026 or as the situation changes.

High tides are expected to cause flooding this evening.   Flooding is expected two hours either side of the high tide.   Areas most at risk include areas of Lyme Regis around the Harbour. Storm Goretti is expected to impact this evening's tides. The detailed tidal forecast for this evening's high tide at 10:02PM is for a peak level of 7.61 mAODN forecast total water level, with force 7 north-westerly winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.).
