Water levels in the River Cale have receded around Wincanton, however low lying land and smaller roads around Nyland and Henstridge may well be flooded for some time.

Water levels in the River Cale and tributaries between Shalford and Southmarsh and the confluence with the River Stour are expected to rise. We are forecast heavy and persistent rain throughout the night and in to Monday morning. Rivers are likely to respond.

Water levels in the River Cale and tributaries between Shalford and Southmarsh and the confluence with the River Stour are rising and are forecast to exceed bankful conditions. We are expecting further rain throughout the evening and over night.

Persistent rain during Sunday has caused levels to rise, with a peak expected in Wincanton at about 10pm. drivers should take care as minor roads close to the river may well be flooded. More rainfall in the middle of the week will cause levels to rise rapidly as the ground is now saturated.
