Levels in the River Piddle have risen at the Briantspuddle river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall yesterday and last night. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible today and the next few days. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for tributaries between Alton Pancras and Wareham. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.
Further rainfall is forecast and with a saturated catchment we expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences and trash screens.
