River levels are rising, and the risk of flooding to low-lying land remains. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Levels in the River Piddle have risen at the Briantspuddle river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall yesterday and last night. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible today and the next few days. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for tributaries between Alton Pancras and Wareham. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. Further rainfall is forecast and with a saturated catchment we expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences and trash screens. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued.
