Due to high water levels at Wareham, a flood alert has been issued. Forecast high water is 00:45 on 16/12/19 at 1.24 mAOD. Tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Wareham Gauge. Flooding to roads and properties is possible at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Poole Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Frome and River Piddle. High river levels on the Frome may coincide with tomorrow mornings high tide high tide at 00:45 on the 16/12/19 at Wareham, as a result we expect to see flooding on the Quay. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads. Due to an unusual tidal surge we believe there is a possibility of flooding for Poole Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Frome and River Piddle. Today's tide was higher than predicted and we believe that a similar situation could occur for tonight's tide and tomorrow morning. The exact time of peak water is difficult to predict, but we are expecting it to be around 2030 tonight and 0900 tomorrow morning. High water levels are expected two hours either side of these times. We are closely monitoring the situation.
