Rising river levels are high and rising on the river Wriggle at Chetnole due to heavy rainfall tonight. Flooding is expected overnight on Monday 30 September. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wriggle, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Deep Ford Lane and the Chubbs Farm area. Further flooding is expected tomorrow as river levels are expected to remain high due to rainfall. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and closely monitoring the situation. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Refer to local authority website for road closures. Take care when driving through flood water and do not put yourself at risk. River levels have risen rapidly on the River Wriggle due to the forecast heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wriggle, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Deep Ford Lane and the Chubbs Farm area. The band of heavy and persistent rain will clear overnight and river levels are expected to fall. The forecast for tomorrow, Friday, will be mostly dry but with possible isolated light showers. The weekend is forecast to be generally dry. If you have not already done so please consider activating any property flood protection products, and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and our incident response staff have cleared weed screens. Please avoid contact with floodwater, and avoid using footpaths and roads affected by flooding. River levels are expected to remain high and flooding of roads and low lying land will continue. Further rainfall is forecast overnight and into tomorrow River levels are now falling steadily. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wriggle, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Deep Ford Lane and the Chubbs Farm area. Flooding of property is expected from 04:35 AM on 04/12/2023. Further rainfall is forecast this morning. River levels are rising. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. On the morning of 20/12/22, we expect flooding to affect the Chubbs Farm area and at Deep Ford Lane, Chetnole; please ensure you avoid the ford. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the situation. If you have further detailed information please let us know.
