A flood alert has been issued. Large and powerful waves are expected to affect the foreshore as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Tides will be at their highest between 11:30 on the 09/02/2020 and 13:30 on the 09/02/2020. Flooding to roads and farmland is expected at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. Low lying land, roads and coastal paths at Mossband Hall, Eden estuary, Burgh Marsh, Port Carlisle, Bowness-on-Solway, Wampool estuary, Waver estuary, Skinburness Marsh, Skinburness and Silloth may be affected. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closing locks and flood gates.
