Strong winds may cause large waves along the Tyne and Wear Coast tomorrow morning, 23/08/2024. Tides will be at their highest between 05:15AM and 07:15AM, 23/08/2024 with wave overtopping possible during these times. The areas most likely to be affected are Seaham Harbour and Docks, Seaburn Lower Promenade and Roker Seafront. This alert is in force for this evenings tide (Thursday 22/08/2024), but the biggest flood risk impacts will be on the Friday morning tide (23/08/2024). The areas most likely to be affected include Whitley Sands promenade, Seaham harbour and docks, Seaburn lower promenade and Hendon. Between 13:00 PM and 19:00 PM on 13/12/2023 waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at beaches and spray will affect promenades, coastal footpaths and low lying roads. The areas most likely to be affected include Whitley Sands promenade, Seaham harbour and docks, Seaburn lower promenade and Hendon. Between 00:00 AM and 06:00 AM on 13/12/2023 waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at beaches and spray will affect promenades, coastal footpaths and low lying roads. Tides will be at their highest between 15:30 and 19:30 today, 13/01/2020. Flooding to coastal footpaths and roads is possible at these times. Areas most at risk are beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads. The main areas of concern are The North Sea from St Mary's Lighthouse to Crimdon Park, North Hartlepool. The North Sea at Roker and Seaham Harbour and docks. Please avoid using risk areas mentioned and take care next to the coast. We will continue to monitor the situation. Tides forecast for Tuesday morning 14/01/2020 are not likely to require an Alert but Alerts will likely be required again for Tuesday evening tides. The alert for the Tyne and Wear Coast remains in force, as does the flood warning for Roker Sea Front. High tides are forecast for early Tuesday morning, the 29/10/2019. Tides will be at their highest between 03:00 and 04:30 on Tuesday morning as a result of particularly high astronomic tides and a surge. Expect water levels to be higher than usual. Wind may cause spray which overtops defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and plan driving routed to avoid low lying roads, which may be flooded.
