The rainfall is forecast to continue through this afternoon, becoming widespread and heavy. This will finally clear away around 8pm this evening, Monday 30th September. River levels in the Towy at Carmarthen are tidally affected. The levels will begin rising again from around 4:30pm, and are expected to continue to rise as the peak of the high tide approaches at 7:30pm. The high tide on Tuesday morning 1st October is also expected to cause flooding of property and the Quay side road. Yesterday's heavy rain which affected levels in the Towy river has now cleared the area although river levels will remain high over the next 48 hours. Overnight, river levels in the river Towy in Carmarthen are expected to drop, but will rise again locally around the Carmarthen Quay area with both the mornings tide, Monday 30th September at 07:15 AM and Monday 30th September evenings tide at 07:30 PM. It is expected that water levels will affect Carmarthen Quay area on Monday 30th September in conjunction with the peak of the tides which occur around 07:15 AM on Monday morning and 07:30 PM on Monday evening. The morning tide has now passed, however due to high water levels in the River Towy it is expected that this evenings high tide in combination with these river levels will again affect Carmarthen Quayside. The rainfall is forecast to continue until 6PM on Saturday 13th October. The rain will be heavy at times with some dry interludes. River levels in the Towy at Carmarthen are expected to rise this evening in response to the tide peaking around 7:45 PM this evening. River levels will then drop until midnight before climbing again as the heavy rainfall affects the River Towy and the morning high tide arrives. Highest levels alongside Carmarthen Quay are likely to occur around 8 AM tomorrow morning, Saturday the 13th October.
