This Flood Warning is for the high tide on Sunday Morning the 9th February. High tide at Cardigan is expected to occur at approximately 08:15 AM. The winds are forecast to be force 8 to 9 on Sunday morning, from a general South Westerly direction. Values in Tide Tables are not especially large on Sunday morning, however, these tides will coincide with Storm Ciara which will bring strong winds, a significant tidal surge, and heavy rainfall. There is uncertainty with the surge values, however the current forecast indicates water levels may reach the top of the slipway at Gloster row. There is a risk some water will breach this slipway and may approach a small number of properties in this area. Heavy rain overnight may exacerbate flooding in this area, so installation of flood gates is recommended in this area as a precaution. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message if the situation changes.
