This Flood Warning for the North Sea coast at Bridlington - Harbour Road and Floral Pavillion remains in force due to forecast overtopping of sea defences by waves and spray as a result of strong onshore winds. Overtopping is forecast on Sunday morning 29/03/20 between 05:30am and 10:30am. We are closely monitoring the situation. Put your flood plan into action. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. We are currently expecting to remove this warning at midday however, as no significant impacts are forecast for this evening's tide.

Consequently, water levels around high tide this evening, Tuesday 10/03/20 has the potential to cause flooding to low lying properties around Bridlington Harbour between 16:30 and 18:00, and then again on Wednesday morning 11/03/20 between 05:00 and 06:15. Take care on low lying roads and footpaths between these times. Conditions around high tides between Tuesday and Thursday are expected to remain at similar levels. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and land is possible between 7am and 8.30am on Wednesday 2nd October. Areas most at risk are properties at Harbour Road and Floral Pavilion. Flooding is most likely at high tide, however conditions may apply between two and four hours either side of the high tide. Coastal conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday when we will review whether this alert is also required for the Wednesday evening high tide. This Flood Warning has been issued for the evening high tide between 10.15pm on Saturday 15th December and 1am on Sunday 16th December. The particular area at risk is Bridlington around the North Promenade. During these times, large waves may cause overtopping of coastal defences and windblown spray driven by strong, south-easterly winds. Where overtopping does occur, it could be variable, unpredictable and pulsating. The coastal promenades are at particular risk of dangerous conditions to pedestrians. Local roads and vehicular traffic close to the frontage could also be affected. Properties close to the frontage may experience windblown spray, or runoff caused by overtopping. Other coastal areas outside the area covered by this warning may still be at risk, and a flood alert has been issued for the wider area. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message accordingly.
