Strong winds and high spring tides are creating high tidal levels on the Coast at Easington and Kilnesea this evening, Wednesday 13th March between 19:00 and 20:30. Our current forecasts suggest that high tidal levels could affect areas along the coast in this area, including caravan parks at Easington and Kilnsea, and other properties on the coast. We are expecting higher than normal tides over the coming days and as a result we may issue further warnings for subsequent tides, however this is not currently expected for this area beyond tonight's tide. Consider putting your flood plan into action, and avoid exposed coastal footpaths and beaches during this time. We will update this message by 21:00 tonight, 13/03/24.

This Flood Warning has been issued due to the combination of spring tides, positive surge and waves on Sunday evening (14/01/2024) between 7:00PM and 8:15PM. Areas most at risk include properties on the east side of Kilnsea around Southfield Farm. Overtopping waves and windblown spray are possible between these times. Tides will be higher than astronomical tides on Sunday 14th January and Monday 15th January due to positive surge. Wave action will also be a hazard particularly on Sunday evening and Monday morning with the potential for windblown spray along exposed coastlines. Areas most at risk are properties from Marine Drive, along South Promenade, Hornsea Burton Road and along Stream Dike and Foss Beck. Coastal conditions are expected to improve on subsequent tides but may trigger further alerts over the next few days due to strong winds. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast and will update this message in 12 hours or as required with updated information.
