This flood warning for the Humber estuary at West Hessle foreshore has been issued as strong winds are expected to cause waves and spray overtopping from 8 PM to 10:30 PM on Sunday 20/02/2022.. Areas most at risk include North bank of Humber estuary to the west of Humber Bridge, particularly around West Hessle foreshore. We will continue to monitoring the situation. Consider activating any property flood protection products and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads, which may be flooded. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and spray will be dangerous. This message will be updated as the situation changes.

This flood warning for the Humber estuary at West Hessle foreshore has been issued as strong winds are expected to cause waves and spray overtopping on the Humber estuary this evening Friday 18/02/2022. Areas most at risk include North bank of Humber estuary to the west of Humber Bridge, particularly around West Hessle foreshore. Overtopping waves and spray are expected from 07:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Unsettled conditions are expected to continue so alerts and warnings may be required over the weekend. We will continue to liaise with local authorities and keep closely monitoring the situation. Consider activating any property flood protection products and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads, which may be flooded. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and spray will be dangerous. Humber estuary
Spring tides and strong winds are forecast to bring high levels and large waves along the Humber estuary on Sunday 7th November. The area most at risk are the North Bank of the Humber estuary at West Hessle foreshore around the Humber Bridge. Some of the highest tides of the year are expected over this weekend, and the forecast shows that, due to the local weather conditions, Sunday morning’s tide will be particularly high. The highest levels are expected on Sunday morning around 06:30-08:00. Our operational staff will be out inspecting our flood defences before and after the peak tides, and we are liaising closely with our partners. Please keep away from flood water and to report an issue relating to river, tidal or coastal flooding, call our Incident Hotline number 0800 80 70 60. Be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation via our Check for Flooding Service on Gov.UK or via Floodline number 0345 988 1188.
