Overtopping of roads and low-lying coastal areas is possible as a result of high spring tides, strong winds and large waves. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible between 7am and 8.30am on Wednesday 2nd October. Flooding is most likely at high tide, however conditions may apply between two and four hours either side of the high tide. Coastal conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday when we will review whether this alert is also required for the Wednesday evening high tide. Waves are forecast to overtop sea frontages at Bridlington, particularly in the area around the Lifeboat Station. Some wave overtopping and sea spray is expected between Midnight on Monday 15/04/19 until 5:45 am on Tuesday 16/04/19, and then again on Tuesday 16/04/19 12:15pm – 6 pm. This may cause some localised flooding in the area. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated if the situation changes

There is a risk of this wave action generating windblown spray near coastal frontages around the Bridlington South Pier between these times and also for the Bridlington Lifeboat Station between 3pm and 4pm. We do not expect flood warnings to be required during these times. Unsettled coastal conditions may remain through the high tide overnight into Wednesday morning. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message accordingly with new information.

The Bridlington Lifeboat Station area is also at risk of wave action and windblown spray for the Saturday evening high tide between 9.45pm and just after midnight. There may be hazardous conditions in coastal areas including roads, promenades and harbours as a result of windblown spray. This forecast also indicates that hazardous conditions may occur during the time around low tide on Saturday afternoon. High tides at Bridlington on Saturday 15th December are at 9.57am and 10.01pm. This is expected to affect Bridlington South Pier and Bridlington Lifeboat Station during the following times, Tuesday 27th November between 20:45 and 23:15, Wednesday 28th November between 08:15 and 12:15 as well as between 20:00 and 22:45 and again on Thursday 29th November between 09:15 and 13:15. Consequently, flooding is possible around the high tide at 02:01am on Tuesday 20th November 2018 with further risk being forecast for the high tide at 14:40pm. Coastal conditions are expected to continue around subsequent high tides on Wednesday 21st November 2018 at 02:43am and 15:16pm. These particularly high tides are because of the naturally occurring astronomical tide cycle. Conditions may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. The Flood Alert for the North Sea coast at Bridlington has been issued for the evenings high-tide on Friday 9th November between 7:45pm and 10:30pm and Saturday 10th November mornings high tide between 4:30am and 9:30am. Wave overtopping and windblown spray may cause some localised flooding, particularly in the area around the lifeboat station and South Pier in Bridlington. We are not currently expecting to be issuing flood warnings for these tides. The Environment Agency continues to monitor the situation closely. Low levels of overtopping waves will affect the South Pier and Lifeboat Station on Saturday afternoon between 15:30 and 18:00. The same areas are expected to see increased amounts of overtopping waves and spray in the early hours of Sunday morning between 01:30 and 04:30.
