The flood alert for the North Sea coast at North Hornsea will be in force from 08:15 until 08:45 AM on Sunday, 10/05/2020, due to forecast overtopping of the sea defences caused by the high astronomical tide. We do not expect wind driven waves or spray to be an issue. The area of concern is around the Leisure Centre, properties around the leisure centre, and the area behind South Promenade as far as Hornsea Burton Road, including Grainger Road and Pasture Road. However, we do not expect significant volumes of overtopping on this tide. Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We are closely monitoring the forecast and will update this warning on Sunday morning or as the situation changes.

The flood alert for the North Sea coast at North Hornsea will be in force from 08:15 until 08:45 AM on Sunday, 10/05/2020, due to forecast overtopping of the sea defences caused by the high astronomical tide. Overtopping wave and wind-blown spray is expected to affect exposed parts of the Yorkshire Coast, in particular in Hornsea along the frontages between 18:30 and 20:30 this evening, Tuesday 8th January. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. There is a risk of this wave action generating windblown spray and localised flooding near coastal frontages in Hornsea. High tide at Bridlington is at approximately 10pm on Saturday evening.
