River Aire
Levels in the Lower Aire washlands remain exceptionally high, flooding continues to affect properties near the Ings in Snaith. River levels upstream at Beal have continued to fall today (2/3/20) but remain high. Elevated levels on the River Aire will continue to slow draining of washlands. We are pumping water from Snaith Ings to accelerate drainage of the reservoir. This reduces the overtopping of the bank into East Cowick. No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days, and tides will be falling until Friday, which should allow levels to start dropping. We anticipate this warning could be removed later today. We are working closely with our partners. Our field teams are monitoring the situation in daylight hours and our incident room remains open. For road closures see https://bitly/39gWvxx. This message will be updated by 00:45 on 3/3/20 or as the situation changes.

Levels in Snaith washlands remain very high but are starting to drop slowly. George Street remains flooded, along with properties near the Ings. The risk of further flooding is reducing, however this warning remains in force as washland levels remain high. River levels upstream at Beal continue to fall today, however high river levels continue to slow washland draining.
No significant rainfall is currently forecast for the next few days, and tides will be falling until Friday, allowing levels to continue to drop.
We are working closely with partners to review our ongoing response and are pumping in a number of locations to help drain water from full washlands. Our field teams are monitoring the situation in daylight hours and our incident room remains open. Please avoid walking or driving through flood water. For road closures see https://bit.ly/3cbWhtH. To report property flooding, call 0800 807060. This message will be updated by 16:35 on 02/03/2020.

River Aire
Currently, levels in Snaith washlands remain high, and George Street remains flooded, along with properties near the Ings. Flood risk remains when washlands are high.
Last night’s rain did not cause further water to enter the washlands from the Aire, however it is keeping river levels high, slowing draining of the washlands. Scattered showers are forecast over the next few days, and we do not expect this to cause more water to enter washlands from the river. High tides continue to fall until Thursday, so river levels should continue to fall, meaning that washlands will be able to begin to drain. Levels will remain elevated into next week.
We continue to work closely with our partners to plan response, and have staff on-site in daylight hours, pumping to aid draining of Snaith Ings. To report property flooding please call 0800 807060. For road closures see https://bit.ly/3cbWhtH. This message will be updated by 18:43 on 01/03/2020 or if the situation changes.
