High spring tides are expected to affect the foreshore between Fairlight and Dungeness. Tides will be at their highest between 12:30pm and 1:30pm tomorrow, Saturday 19/10/2024, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding to affect coastal areas, particularly low lying land around, Winchelsea Beach, Rye Harbour and Camber.
We are closely monitoring the situation. The peak tide level is currently forecast to be 4.52 metres Ordnance Datum at Rye Harbour at 13:00 BST on Saturday.
Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads particularly around Rye harbour and Camber.

Tides will be at their highest between 11:15am and 1:15pm tomorrow, Friday 18/10/2024, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding to affect coastal areas, particularly low lying land around, Winchelsea Beach, Rye Harbour and Camber.
We are closely monitoring the situation. The peak tide level is currently forecast to be 4.58 metres Ordnance Datum at Rye Harbour at 12:15 BST on Friday.
Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads particularly around Rye harbour and Camber.

High water levels are forecast to affect the foreshore from Fairlight to Dungeness overnight tonight, Monday 08/04/2024, due to high spring tides and strong winds. Tides will be at their highest between 23:30 and 00:30 overnight, with high tide at midnight. Flooding to roads and low lying land is expected at these times, however these conditions may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. We expect flooding to affect locations near the coast, particularly around Rye Harbour, Camber and Jury’s Gap. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 09/04/24, or as the situation changes. For those that use it, the astronomical water level will be 4.30m AOD and the total water level will be 4.81m AOD, with south westerly wind speeds of Force 6.

A peak level of 3.93 metres above Ordnance Datum is forecast at Rye Harbour at 12:45. Due to the strong winds, levels remain high and wave overtopping may continue through the day. Flooding may affect locations near the coast in this area, particularly around Pett, Rye Harbour, and Lydd Ranges. Strong Force 8 winds will remain today.
Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond.
Members of the public are advised to stay away from frontages, due to the risk of wave overtopping.

Due to the strong westerly winds, wave overtopping may continue through the night. Flooding may affect locations near the coast, particularly around Pett, Rye Harbour, and Lydd Ranges. Tides will be at their highest between 12:00 and 12:30 tomorrow, Sunday 07/11/2021, with high tide at 12:15. Flooding to roads and low lying land is expected at these times, however these conditions may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. We expect flooding to affect coastal areas, particularly low lying land and roads nearest the sea particularly around Rye Harbour, Camber and Jury’s Gap and low lying land along the Tidal Rother. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required. This message will be updated tomorrow afternoon, 07/11/2021, or as the situation changes. The tide is high enough to provide some localised flooding around Rye Harbour and Rye, including damage to vehicles left in undefended car parks.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have closed flood gates in sea defences and are checking flood defence structures.
For those that use such information, high tide at Rye Harbour is due at 1.21am on Friday, 13th March. The astronomical tide is 4.31m above Ordnance Datum. The surge will be 0.09m. The overall tide height will be 4.40m above Ordnance Datum. Winds will be force 7, West-South-Westerly.

Large and powerful waves are expected to overtop sea defences as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible 2 hours either side of high tide at 01:55am tomorrow, 15/01/20.
Coastal conditions should ease for the 15/01/20 high tide at 2:16pm.
We are closely monitoring the situation and incident response staff are inspecting and maintaining sea defences and beaches. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We are also expecting strong winds during this time.

Wind-blown spray and wave overtopping could occur near the coast at this time. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This alert is being issued in response to gale force winds and large powerful waves that may affect exposed south and south-westerly facing parts of the coast today, Saturday 2nd November. Wind-blown spray and wave overtopping could occur near the coast between 12pm and 4:30pm today. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking and operating defences and structures where required.
