Flood Warning issued on 6 Mar 2020 10:13
Ouse
River levels in Barcombe have fallen slightly from their peak, but are still very high. Friday and Saturday 7/3/2020 are forecast to be dry. River levels will continue to fall slowly. But flood impacts will continue to affect properties, gardens, Barcombe Mills Road and extensively through fields until Saturday 7/3/2020. More rain is predicted Sunday morning and Monday afternoon 9/3/2020. The risk of flooding will increase again, dependant on the amount of rain we receive. Current predictions suggest river levels could return to similar heights seen today 6/3/2020, but probably slightly lower. Please plan to avoid driving through flood prone routes such as Barcombe Mills Road. Remain prepared for the risk of flooding to increase again from Sunday. We are operating our water control gates in Barcombe to minimise flood impacts as much as possible and will continue to monitor river levels and forecasts. We will update this message by 12:00 7/3/2020

Ouse
The River Ouse is rising steadily in response to 26mm of rainfall today. Only a further 5mm of rainfall is forecast this evening. But we believe, in total, there has been enough rain to cause flooding in Barcombe later. Flooding is expected from 23:00 05/03/2020. Locations to be affected will include a small number of properties in Barcombe Mills, including The Anchor Inn. Thursday evening and Friday will be relatively dry, so river levels should begin to fall from 11:00 on Friday 06/03/2020. However, river levels will stay high until Saturday and further rain is forecast into next week, so levels may rise again. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding such as Barcombe Mills Road and install flood protection products now in Barcombe, if you have them. We are operating our structures in Barcombe to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We will update this message by 15:00 06/03/2020.
