Monday evening's tide at 23:45 on 08/04/2024 is higher than normal, due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.65m. The total forecast tide is 8.23 metres Chart Datum (4.58 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route, Bulverhythe railway line, Sea Road and Cinque Ports Way. Large waves and minor flood impacts will still be possible Tuesday afternoon, however Tuesday's tide at 12:30 on 09/04/2024 is forecast to be 50cm lower (3.69 mAOD), so flood risk should be lower. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid walking, cycling or parking at Bulverhythe sea front at high tide. Spray and waves will contain and scatter shingle which is dangerous. Saturday afternoon's tide at 12:45 on 19/02/2022 is forecast to be higher than normal, and similar to Friday afternoon 18/02/2022. Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves increase tide table values by 0.54 m. The total forecast tide is 7.68 metres Chart Datum (4.03 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route, Bulverhythe railway line, Sea Road and Cinque Ports Way. Strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. After Saturday, the next highest tide is forecast to be 20cm lower, on Monday afternoon. However, spray and minor flood impacts will continue this weekend. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid walking, cycling or parking at Bulverhythe sea front at high tide. Friday afternoon's tide at 12:15 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Storm Force 10 South Westerly winds and very large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.65 m. The total forecast tide is 7.74 metres Chart Datum (4.09 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route and Bulverhythe railway line. Friday evening’s tide will be 50cm lower. However, strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. Saturday’s midday tide could see a return of minor flood impacts, when tide levels could be similar to midday Friday. We continue to monitor the forecast. However the tide will still be higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.32 m. The total forecast tide is 7.80 metres Chart Datum (4.15 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route and Bulverhythe railway line. Tuesday and Wednesday evening's tides will be a little higher again and further minor flooding is expected over those high waters. We continue to monitor the forecast. The total forecast tide is 7.98 metres Chart Datum (4.33 mAOD) at Eastbourne. The tide will be the highest ever recorded. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route, Bulverhythe railway line, Sea Road and Cinque Ports Way. There are high tides and large waves forecast until Thursday 13/02/2020. Tuesday's tide at 12:30 will be lower, but could still cause minor impacts. We continue to monitor the forecast. The total forecast tide is 7.88 metres Chart Datum (4.23 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route, Bulverhythe railway line, Sea Road and Cinque Ports Way. Strong winds and large waves are expected from 08:00 on Sunday 09/02/2020 as Storm Ciara passes across the South East. There is a risk of minor flooding from spray. High tides, large waves and the risk of flooding will remain similar until Thursday 13/02/2020. We continue to monitor the forecast.
