Monday evening's tide at 23:45 on 08/04/2024 is higher than normal, due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.65m. The total forecast tide is 8.23 metres Chart Datum (4.58 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route, Bulverhythe railway line, Sea Road and Cinque Ports Way. Large waves and minor flood impacts will still be possible Tuesday afternoon, however Tuesday's tide at 12:30 on 09/04/2024 is forecast to be 50cm lower (3.69 mAOD), so flood risk should be lower. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid walking, cycling or parking at Bulverhythe sea front at high tide. Spray and waves will contain and scatter shingle which is dangerous. We will update this message by 18:00 on 09/04/2024.

Saturday afternoon's tide at 12:45 on 19/02/2022 is forecast to be higher than normal, and similar to Friday afternoon 18/02/2022. Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves increase tide table values by 0.54 m. The total forecast tide is 7.68 metres Chart Datum (4.03 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route, Bulverhythe railway line, Sea Road and Cinque Ports Way. Strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. After Saturday, the next highest tide is forecast to be 20cm lower, on Monday afternoon. However, spray and minor flood impacts will continue this weekend. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid walking, cycling or parking at Bulverhythe sea front at high tide. Spray and waves will contain and scatter shingle which is dangerous. We will update this message by 20:00 on 19/02/2022

Friday afternoon's tide at 12:15 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Storm Force 10 South Westerly winds and very large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.65 m. The total forecast tide is 7.74 metres Chart Datum (4.09 mAOD) at Eastbourne. For 2 hours either side of high water, spray is expected to affect the National Cycle Network Route and Bulverhythe railway line. Friday evening’s tide will be 50cm lower. However, strong winds and large waves will continue over the weekend, albeit not as extreme. Saturday’s midday tide could see a return of minor flood impacts, when tide levels could be similar to midday Friday. We continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid walking, cycling or parking at Bulverhythe sea front at high tide. Spray and waves will contain and scatter shingle which is dangerous. We will update this message by 18:00 on 18/02/2022.
