Langney Haven
River levels on the Langney Haven have now peaked following last night’s rain. Impacts should only be very minimal, affecting a few fields, rural roads and gardens. Property flooding is not expected. Isolated showers are possible Thursday and Friday which may cause river levels to rise again and potentially be higher than today. There is uncertainty in the location of the showers and amounts of rain they may produce. However, impacts are not expected to increase. Please consider keeping flood protection products deployed, if you have them, as a precaution. We are operating our structures in Langney and Eastbourne to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. This message will be updated by 22:00 14/11/2019.

Langney Haven
Only 2mm of rain fell overnight, a lot less than predicted, and Friday (8/11/2019) will be dry. The Langney Haven will continue to slowly fall until Saturday morning. Minimal flood impacts will remain from current high flows. Further heavy rain is expected from 14:00 Saturday afternoon (9/11/2019). We are expecting rivers to rise Saturday afternoon and into the evening, close to the high levels experienced recently. There remains some uncertainty in the forecast, and there is a small chance we may see more rainfall which may be enough to cause flooding to fields, rural roads and close to properties. Please expect the risk of flooding to increase Saturday evening, and consider taking precautionary action to reduce potential impacts. Please plan to deploy flood protection products Saturday morning, if you have them. We are operating our gate structures through Langney and Eastbourne to help reduce flood risk. Flood Alert issued on 7 Nov 2019 18:49
Langney Haven
The Langney Haven is high following half a month’s rain this week. Heavy showers are possible overnight. Should heavy rain occur in Eastbourne there is a small chance of minor impact flooding, with shallow depths, from the early hours of Friday morning 8/11/2019. Affecting fields, rural roads and gardens in Langney Green. It is probable that come Friday morning, river levels will not have risen as high as they were Tuesday 5/11/2019. But levels are likely to slowly increase over the next few days, even if flooding does not occur, as rain is expected Saturday and Monday 11/11/2019. It may not be until next week that river levels peak and start to fall significantly. Please plan to avoid driving on roads vulnerable to flooding and deploy flood protection products, if you have them. We are operating our gate structures through Langney and Eastbourne to help reduce flood risk. This message will be updated by 11:00 8/11/2019
