This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely over the next few hours and into this evening, Thursday 14th January. River levels are high and expected to continue to rise in response to the rainfall. Areas most at risk are Smiths Green, Helions Rd, Water Lane, the bottom of Church Street, North Street, Blois Road, the Endway and the Blois Meadows Business Centre in Steeple Bumpstead, and waterside properties in Broad Green. It is likely that we may need to issue more warning messages for a wider area, over the next few hours. The forecast is for persistent rain this morning and into the afternoon, more settled on Friday but with further rainfall on Saturday. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message as necessary, and no later than 6pm on Thursday 14th January.

This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely throughout tonight, Thursday 3rd and into the early hours of Friday 4th December. The River Stour is reacting quickly, and rising sharply in response to the rainfall. Areas most at risk are Smiths Green, Helions Rd, Water Lane, the bottom of Church Street, North Street, Blois Road, the Endway and the Blois Meadows Business Centre in Steeple Bumpstead, and waterside properties in Broad Green. We are not expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages for this area at this time. The forecast is for further persistant rainfall from 1am to 8am which could be heavy at times and could also lead to some surface water problems. Be ready to take action to protect your property if flooding is likely. We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night and will update this message by 9am tomorrow morning, Friday 4th December.

This message has been issued because there is a possibility of some flooding of homes and businesses today, Sunday 15th November. River levels have risen due to the rainfall this morning. River levels are currently high, but are expected to start to drop back down to more normal levels later today. Areas most at risk are Smiths Green, Helions Road, Water Lane, the bottom of Church Street, North Street, Blois Road, the Endway and the Blois Meadows Business Centre in Steeple Bumpstead, and waterside properties in Broad Green. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages for this area at this time. The forecast is for further rainfall through the rest of this morning and afternoon before clearing later this evening. Tomorrow, Monday 16th November, is forecast to be mostly dry. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message as necessary.

Areas most at risk are Smiths Green, Helions Rd, Water Lane, the bottom of Church Street, North Street, Blois Road, the Endway and the Blois Meadows Business Centre in Steeple Bumpstead, and waterside properties in Broad Green. The forecast is for further light rain during today, Friday 20 December 2019. Further showers are forecast for tomorrow, but these are not expected to be heavy. Take care on riverside footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are closely monitoring the situation.
