Canons Brook
Heavy rainfall is currently falling in the Harlow area. This has caused the Canons Brook to rise during this afternoon, Sunday 25 July. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the Canons Brook in Harlow this afternoon and evening. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur. We expect the river to remain high this afternoon but should start to recede this evening. No flooding to properties is currently expected. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff on standby to attend to any blockages in the river. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Monday 26 July, or earlier if the situation changes.
