River levels are rising on the River Roding in the Molehill Green, Dunmow, Ongar, Fyfield, High Ongar and Stapleford areas. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river today. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur.
The river is likely to continue rising slowly for the rest of the day. The forecast for tomorrow, Monday 11th December and Tuesday 12th December is drier and we expect the risk of flooding to start reducing from tomorrow.
We recommend you stay aware of local weather conditions and water levels. Avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff on standby to attend to any blockages in the river.

Over the last few days we have seen several bands of heavy rainfall in the Roding catchment. This has meant that levels in the river have risen.
Flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river may continue today on Wednesday 6 October. The main areas of concern are Molehill Green, Dunmow, Ongar, Fyfield, High Ongar and Stapleford. Flooding from surface water could also occur.
River levels have peaked and are starting to drop, however we expect the river to remain high today. No further rain is forecast over the next few days.

The main area of concern is currently Molehill Green, Dunmow, Ongar, Fyfield, High Ongar and Stapleford where the River Roding has risen. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river this evening on Tuesday 5 October. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur.
We expect the river to continue to rise overnight and then remain high into Wednesday. No further rainfall is expected over the next few days.

River levels have now largely stabilised and should begin to drop away during today (Friday 15 January). However, some further rain is forecast on Saturday. Although this rainfall will be less than we have received in the last few days, it will fall on saturated catchments and could cause river levels to rise again.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in this area. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
