River Lyd
River levels are falling at the Lydney river gauge after a period of heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding of property, roads and farmland will continue today, the 24/12/20. We expect flooding to affect low lying properties in Lydney.
A peak level of 1.4m occurred at 01:00 on Thursday morning the 24/12/20.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services.
Please avoid contact with flood water and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
This message will be updated at 5pm tomorrow the 24/12/20, or as the situation changes.
Flood Warning issued on 23 Dec 2020 19:39
River Lyd
River levels are rising at the Lydney river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to begin this evening 23/12/20. We expect flooding to affect low lying properties in Lydney. Predicted Peak: Lydney 1.3m to 1.6m Thursday morning 24/12/20.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services.
Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers and move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety.
