Flood Warning issued on 11 Mar 2020 20:08
Severn Estuary
Low pressure will cause sea levels to be higher than forecast in tide tables. The forecast high water is 20:45 on 11/03/20 with a level of 8.57 mAOD and a Force 6 South Westerly wind. This new forecasted level which has triggered the flood warning is an increase from the forecast earlier today, 11/03/20, which did not reach the trigger level. Times are local and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth but impacts may be one hour either side of the high tide. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Bilsham Lane and Northwick Road areas. Peak levels will be higher than the tide this morning, 11/03/20. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closing flood gates. Take care along beaches, promenades and roads as large waves can be dangerous. Please install property flood resilience equipment. This message will be updated on 12/03/20.
