This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM on 09/04/2024.
Tuesday morning's tide is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with westerly force 6 winds and large waves. Tonight's tide does not reach flood warning thresholds.
Waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at the Severn Estuary from Sharpness to Oldbury-on-Severn including low lying properties on Severn Lane, Worldsend Lane, Nupdown Lane and Shepperdine Road including Oldbury Power Station..
The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth of 8.26 mAODN at 8:30 AM on 09/04/2024, which is 0.57 m above tide tables, with westerly force 6 winds.(mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.)

Areas most at risk include the Severn Estuary from Sharpness to Oldbury-on-Severn including low lying properties on Severn Lane, Worldsend Lane, Nupdown Lane and Shepperdine Road including Oldbury Power Station.
The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth of 8.31 mAODN at 8:30 AM on 12/03/2024, which is 0.30 m above tide tables, with south-westerly force 6 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.)
We will continue to monitor levels closely. Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads.

Low pressure will cause sea levels to be higher than forecast in tide tables. The forecast high water is 21:30 on 12/03/20 with a level of 8.21 mAOD and a Force 7 West South Westerly wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth, mAOD is height above average sea level. The peak tide of this tidal cycle was Wednesday night, 11/03/20. Subsequent tides will be lower. Flooding to roads and properties is possible at these times, but conditions may apply one hour either side of the high tide. There is a possibility of flooding for the Severn Estuary from Sharpness to Oldbury-on-Severn including low lying properties on Severn Lane, Worldsend Lane, Nupdown Lane and Shepperdine Road including Oldbury Power Station. Low pressure will cause sea levels to be higher than forecast in tide tables. First forecast high water is 20:45 on 11/03/20 with a level of 8.56 mAOD and a Force 6 South Westerly wind. Second forecast high water is 09:00 on 12/03/20 with a level of 8.49 mAOD and a Force 6 West South Westerly wind. Times are local and refer to high water time at Avonmouth. Flooding to roads and properties is possible at these times, but may apply two hours either side of the high tide. There is a possibility of flooding the Severn Estuary from Sharpness to Oldbury-on-Severn including low lying properties on Severn Lane, Worldsend Lane, Nupdown Lane and Shepperdine Road including Oldbury Power Station. Peak levels will be higher than the tide this morning, 11/03/20. Our incident staff are checking defences and closing flood gates. Strong onshore winds and a large tidal surge are forecast. The first high water is at 08:45 on Tuesday 11th February and the forecast tide level is 8.24 m AOD. The forecast wind is force 6 Westerly. Tide times and levels refer to high water at Avonmouth. Flooding may occur for about 2 hours either side of high water. Flooding is possible for the Severn Estuary from Sharpness to Oldbury-on-Severn including low lying properties on Severn Lane, Worldsend Lane, Nupdown Lane and Shepperdine Road including Oldbury Power Station.
