Areas most at risk include the Severn Estuary at Severn Beach including New Passage and Pilning. The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth of 7.37 mAODN, which is 0.30 m above tide tables, with westerly force 7 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level - for more info refer to local tide tables.) The risk of flooding from Storm Antoni will reduce after this high tide. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences and we will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert if necessary. Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during the coming tide. Waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at the Severn Estuary at Severn Beach including New Passage and Pilning.. Flooding is possible at the Severn Estuary at Severn Beach including New Passage and Pilning either side of the high tide 17:52 PM on 06/11/2022. After this tide as the winds strength reduces , so no further impacts are expected. We are closing locks and flood gates in the area. We will remove this message by 09:00 AM on 07/11/2022.
