Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during coming tides. Areas most at risk include the Severn Estuary at Oldbury-on-Severn, Northwick and Avonmouth including Aust and Old Passage. The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth. The first forecast high water is at 9:00 PM on 12/03/2024 with a level of 7.98 mAODN with south-westerly force 6 winds. The second forecast high water is at 9:15 AM on 13/03/2024 with a level of 8.13 mAODN with south-westerly force 6 winds. Areas most at risk include the Severn Estuary at Oldbury-on-Severn, Northwick and Avonmouth including Aust and Old Passage. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected between 7:45 AM and 9:15 AM on 12/03/2024. The tide at 9:00 PM on 12/03/2024 is also currently forecast to be a flood alert, we will send an update once this current tide has passed. The detailed tidal information for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth of 8.31 mAODN at 8:30 AM on 12/03/2024, which is 0.30 m above tide tables, with south-westerly force 6 winds. Times are local and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth, however conditions may apply one hour either side of the high tides. mAOD is height above average sea level for more detail refer to local tide tables. There is a possibility of flooding for the Severn Estuary at Oldbury-on-Severn, Northwick and Avonmouth including Aust and Old Passage. Flooding to roads and farmland is possible but properties are not expected to flood. We have closed flood gates at Pill and Shirehampton and are monitoring the situation. Storm Eunice is expected to bring severe gale force winds across the Bristol Channel early on Friday, coinciding with low spring tides. We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast. Forecast high water is 08:15 on 18/02/22 with a level of 7.43 mAOD and a Force 9 South Westerly wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth, mAOD is height above average sea level for more detail refer to local tide tables. Flooding to roads and farmland is possible at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding to affect the Severn Estuary at Oldbury-on-Severn, Northwick and Avonmouth including Aust and Old Passage. We are closely monitoring the situation. There is a possibility of flooding for the Severn estuary at the Severn Estuary at Oldbury-on-Severn, Northwick and Avonmouth including Aust and Old Passage.
