River levels are rising rapidly on the Mimmshall Brook due to heavy rainfall today, Tuesday 26 March. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Mimmshall Brook, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Warrengate Road in North Mimms. Further rainfall is forecast this evening but the forecast for tomorrow is mostly dry. Further heavy rainfall is forecast for Thursday 28 March. River levels are rising at the Mimms Hall and Warrengate Road gauges. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 10am on Wednesday 27 March, or as the situation changes.

River levels are rising rapidly on the Mimmshall Brook, due to heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Mimmshall Brook, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Warrengate Road in North Mimms. Further rainfall is forecast overnight and into tomorrow. River levels are rising at the Mimms Hall and Warrengate Road gauges. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 10am on Friday 5th January, or as the situation changes.

Mimmshall Brook
This flood alert is being issued based on the forecast heavy rainfall we are expecting overnight on Monday 4 October into Tuesday. This is likely to cause the river to rise. The main area of concern is currently Warrengate including South Mimms, Potters Bar, Brookmans Park and Welham Green. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river on Monday night. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur. We expect the river to rise and then remain high overnight. Further showers are then forecast on Tuesday. We have staff attending site who will be closing the Warrengate Road flood gates. We are also constantly monitoring river levels and have staff on standby to attend to any blockages in the river. This message will be updated on Tuesday morning or earlier if the situation changes.
