River Irwell
River levels on the River Irwell continue to fall. Further showers are forecast throughout tomorrow Sunday 17th March. We will continue to monitor the forecast and issue updates if necessary. Please be aware of your surroundings and keep up-to-date with the current situation.

River Irwell
River levels are forecast to rise at the Manchester Racecourse river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of low lying land, roads and farmland is possible throughout Saturday 16th March 2019. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads around the Rivers Irk and Medlock, Wince and Worsley Brooks and their tributaries. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further flood updates if necessary. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation. This message will be updated as the situation changes.

The Flood Alert for the Lower Irwell remains in force. The worst of the rainfall has passed and rivers are receding below the Flood Alert level. Further scattered showers are expected in the early hours of the morning and we will continue to monitor the situation.

Lower River Irwell
Due to the recent heavy rainfall in the Irwell uplands, river levels have been increasing downstream in the Salford area and rivers are crossing the Flood Alert level . The worst of the rain has now passed and river levels in the Salford area should start falling around midnight. Further scattered showers are expected tomorrow morning and we will continue to monitor the situation.

Lower River Irwell
Heavy rainfall is forecast in the Lower River Irwell area from late afternoon today (Wednesday 4th October) until tomorrow morning (Thursday the 5th October). Current forecasts suggest that there will be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river from the early hours on the 5th October. We expect the river to remain high throughout the evening through to tomorrow morning though no flooding to properties is forecast and warnings are not expected to be issued. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for, and clearing, blockages in this location
