Groundwater levels are high but falling slowly. At our borehole in Harestock, the level peaked on Saturday 13/04/2024 and has since fallen by 11cm. Groundwater will currently be impacting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. Today 16/04/2024, a small amount of rain (up to 7mm) is forecast in Hampshire. From Wednesday 17/04/2024 to Saturday 20/04/2024, minimal rain is expected. Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling slowly. If dry weather continues to be forecast next week, then we will remove this Flood Alert. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Please remain prepared for further flooding impacts as groundwater levels will be sensitive to further rainfall. This Flood Alert will be updated or removed by 18:00 on Tuesday 23/04/2024.

Groundwater levels are high and rising slowly. At our borehole in Harestock, the level started to rise on Tuesday 02/04/2024 and has since risen by 66cm. Groundwater will be impacting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. From today (09/04/2024) until Saturday (13/04/2024), very little rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to peak by this weekend. There is a possibility that, from Friday (12/04/2024), some properties in Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton may experience some internal flood impacts as water seeps through floors. If dry weather is forecast next week, there is a possibility that we will remove this Flood Alert. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Please remain prepared for further flooding impacts as groundwater levels will be sensitive to further rainfall. This Flood Alert will be updated or removed by 18:00 on Tuesday 16/04/2024.

Groundwater levels are high but continue to fall slowly. At our borehole in Harestock, the level has fallen by 53cm in the last week. Residual flood water may still be affecting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. Unsettled weather is forecast to affect Hampshire over the next 4 days with between 30 and 50mm of rain expected. Groundwater levels are expected to fall slowly, but if the heaviest rain in the forecast affects the area, then levels may begin to rise once more. If this occurs, road flooding in Kings Worthy will become deeper, and in Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, some properties may begin to experience some internal flood impacts as water seeps up through floors. Groundwater levels are high and slowly falling. At our borehole in Harestock, the level has fallen by 95cm in the last week. We expect groundwater to be affecting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts may still be affected by residual flood water. Footpaths will likely still be affected. Over the next five days, unsettled weather is expected to affect Hampshire, with up to 40mm of rain possible during that time. The rain is currently expected to be heaviest (up to 25mm) on Thursday 28/03/2024. Groundwater levels will most likely continue fall slowly over the next week. However, if the heaviest rain affects the area, groundwater levels may begin to rise slowly again. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Groundwater levels are high and slowly falling. At our borehole in Harestock, the level peaked on Wednesday 13/03/2024. Since then, it has fallen by 44cm. We expect groundwater is impacting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts are full and have become less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties are likely experiencing some internal ground floor flooding impacts as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river are impassable. From today (18/03/2024) to Friday, only very small amounts of rain are forecast. Groundwater levels will continue to decrease this week. Flooding impacts will also decrease but will continue to affect the area for most of March. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Groundwater levels are high but beginning to stabilise. During the last week, the level at our borehole in Harestock has risen by 1.59m. However, in the last 24 hours, it has risen by just 5cm. We expect that groundwater is impacting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts are full and have become less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties are likely experiencing some internal flood impacts as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river are now impassable. On Tuesday (12/03/2024), further rain (up to 15mm) is forecast. From Wednesday (13/03/2024) to Friday (15/03/2024), only a small amount of rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to remain high throughout this week and just begin to fall. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. At Harestock, the groundwater level is high and rising. In the last 4 weeks, 161mm of rain has been recorded in Harestock. This is nearly 3 times the normal amount of monthly average rainfall. In the last 24 hours, the groundwater level has risen by 25cm. Rising groundwater will begin to affect Springvale Road in Kings Worthy. From Thursday 07/03/2024, in Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts may become full and less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties may be affected as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river will also become inaccessible. From today (Monday 04/03/2024) to Wednesday 06/03/2024, lighter rain (between 10 and 25mm) is forecast in Hampshire. Thursday (07/03/2024) and Friday (08/03/2024) are expected to be dry. Groundwater levels are expected to begin stabilising before the end of this week. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Harestock, groundwater levels are high but falling by around 20cm per day. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts are full. Some properties may be experiencing some internal flooding impacts as water seeps up through floors. We expect there to be water on riverside footpaths. Groundwater is expected to be affecting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. Unsettled weather is expected today (23/01/2024) and on Thursday (25/01/2024), although rainfall totals in Hampshire are expected to be relatively small. Dry weather is forecast on Friday (26/01/2024) and Saturday (27/01/2024). Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling and flooding impacts should improve. If levels continue to fall for the next week and further dry weather is forecast, it is possible this Flood Alert could be removed next week. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Harestock, groundwater levels are high, but are now falling by 15cm per day. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts will be full. Some properties may be experiencing some internal flood impacts as water seeps up through the floors. Footpaths near to the river are expected to be inaccessible. In Kings Worthy, Headbourne Worthy and Littleton, residual water may still be affecting cellars, the sewerage network and roads, but flood impacts will be decreasing. Water on roads may freeze and cause icy conditions. Dry weather is expected until Friday 19/01/2024. Unsettled weather is forecast on Saturday 20/01/2024 with up to 11mm expected in Hampshire. Groundwater levels will continue to fall, but if heavy rain affects the area, groundwater levels and flood impacts will increase again, potentially bringing similar or worse impacts to those seen in the last couple of weeks. At Harestock, the groundwater is high and rising. Since Friday 05/01/2024, the level at Harestock has risen by 2 metres. Currently, the groundwater level is peaking around the level we would expect cellar flooding in Kings Worthy, Headbourne Worthy and Littleton. Sewerage networks will be affected and water will begin flowing down North Drive and South Drive in Littleton. At Headbourne Worthy, water could affect the main road and the spring at Spring Cottage will be flowing. At Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts will be full, and groundwater will be affecting properties as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near to the river will be inaccessible. Dry weather is forecast over the next 5 days. Groundwater levels are expected to remain high throughout January 2024 and will be responsive to any further rainfall. We continue to monitor the forecast and groundwater levels. At Harestock, the groundwater level is high and rising rapidly. In the last 4 months, prolonged, much higher than average rainfall (486mm) was recorded in Harestock. In the last 24 hours, the groundwater level at Harestock has risen by 1.1m. Rising groundwater will begin to affect Springvale Road in Kings Worthy. Over the coming days drainage ditches and culverts in Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton will become full and less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties may be affected as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river will also become inaccessible. In Littleton, cellar flooding may occur within the next 7 days although levels may peak before this occurs. Over the next 5 to 10 days, the weather remains fairly dry but groundwater will continue to rise over the next 5 days in response to the rainfall which was recorded in the last 5 days. The Groundwater level at Harestock Corner is high, but is still falling. In the last 7 days, the level has reduced by 0.7m. This week, there may still be some water in channels close to Springvale Road (Kings Worthy) and the main road at Headbourne Worthy. Over the the next 5 days, the weather should remain fairly dry, and levels will continue to fall. If the weather forecast is favourable next week, then we will look to remove this Flood Alert on Friday (27/03/2020). We continue to monitor the forecast. The Groundwater level at Harestock Corner is high but levels are now falling. In the last 7 days, the level has lowered by 0.4m. Some minor impact residual flooding may still be affecting the road at Springvale Road (Kings Worthy) and the main road at Headbourne Worthy. Properties may also still be affected in Martyr Worthy, Easton and Chilland, but it should be an improving situation. Over the next 5 to 10 days, the weather should be much drier, except for this weekend (14/03/2020 and 15/03/2020) when 10 to 15mm of rain is forecast. Given the current forecast, it is unlikely that levels will rise, but it may just slow the rate of fall for a day or so. Overall, we expect levels will continue to fall over the next week. The Groundwater level at Harestock Corner is high. Levels are now slowly falling, but the rate of fall has slowed as a result of heavy rainfall yesterday. Groundwater will continue to flood the road at Springvale Road (Kings Worthy) and the main road at Headbourne Worthy. Properties may also be affected in Martyr Worthy, Easton and Chilland. Today and tomorrow (Saturday 07/03/2020) the weather will remain dry. On Sunday (08/03/2020) and Monday (09/03/2020) further rain (15mm to 30mm) is now forecast. Throughout this time, if 30mm of rain should affect the area, then levels will rise and be slightly higher than recorded in February 2020. This could impact cellars in Littleton, Kings and Headbourne Worthy. Next week, the weather outlook may continue to be unsettled, but it could be slightly drier in the South. An unsettled outlook may also continue next week. Groundwater is currently only 0.25m below where cellar flooding can occur in Littleton, Kings and Headbourne Worthy. Groundwater will cause road flooding at Springvale Road, Kings Worthy and to the main road at Headbourne Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Easton and Chilland, some properties may experience internal impacts as water rises through floors. Footpaths near the river will be inaccessible. Over the next 5 days, relatively small amounts of rain are forecast (15-20mm). Groundwater levels will rise for at least the next 8 days. Footpaths near the river will be inaccessible. In Littleton it is possible that levels will rise high enough to impact cellars over the next week.
