Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:15 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Southerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.76m. The total forecast tide is 5.75 metres Chart Datum (3.02 mAOD) at Portsmouth. The tide will be the highest ever recorded. For 2 hours either side of high water, property flooding is expected at Lower Quay, Eastern Parade, Deane's Park Road and Hill Head Road near Giblet Ore. Road flooding is expected at the lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the A32 Wallington Way, junction with A27 roundabout. Flood Water could be 0.3m deep. After this tide the weather becomes more settled but minor impacts could continue until Thursday (11/04/2024). We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 2 hours before high tide. Cars should not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 09/04/2024.

Friday afternoon's tide at 12:30 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.76 m. The total forecast tide is 5.47 metres Chart Datum (2.74 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, and may flood a small number of properties. The lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the road at Eastern Parade will flood. Flood depths in Wallington Shore Road will be up to 0.2 m. Properties nearest the sea front at the lower end of Hillhead Road could also experience garden flooding as a result of wave overtopping. Saturday afternoon's tide on 19/02/2022 at 13:00 may cause very minor impact flooding. We may issue further advice later today. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Town Quay, if you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Cars should not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will update or remove this message by 18:00 on 18/02/2022.

Tuesday afternoon's tide at 13:00 on 07/12/2021 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Easterly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.51 m. The total forecast tide is 5.43 metres Chart Datum (2.70 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, which could impact a very small number of properties in this location. The lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the road at Eastern Parade will flood. Flood water in Wallington Shore Road will be between 0.1 m and 0.2 m deep. At 01:45 on 08/12/2021‚ the tide level remains elevated, but it is unlikely to cause flooding to property. We will issue further advice. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Town Quay, if you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Cars should not park at the lower end of Wallington Shore Road.
