Friday afternoon's tide at 12:30 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.76 m. The total forecast tide is 5.47 metres Chart Datum (2.74 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, and may flood a small number of properties. The lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the road at Eastern Parade will flood. Flood depths in Wallington Shore Road will be up to 0.2 m. Properties nearest the sea front at the lower end of Hillhead Road could also experience garden flooding as a result of wave overtopping. Saturday afternoon's tide on 19/02/2022 at 13:00 may cause very minor impact flooding. We may issue further advice later today. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Town Quay, if you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Cars should not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will update or remove this message by 18:00 on 18/02/2022.

Tuesday afternoon's tide at 13:00 on 07/12/2021 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Easterly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.51 m. The total forecast tide is 5.43 metres Chart Datum (2.70 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, which could impact a very small number of properties in this location. The lower end of Wallington Shore Road and the road at Eastern Parade will flood. Flood water in Wallington Shore Road will be between 0.1 m and 0.2 m deep. At 01:45 on 08/12/2021‚ the tide level remains elevated, but it is unlikely to cause flooding to property. We will issue further advice. We continue to monitor the forecast. At Town Quay, if you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Cars should not park at the lower end of Wallington Shore Road. The weather increases tide table values by 0.6 m. The total forecast tide is 5.44 metres Chart Datum (2.71 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, and could flood a small number of properties in this location. The bottom of the road at Wallington Shore Road, and the road at Eastern Parade, will flood. Properties at the lower end of Hillhead Road could also experience garden flooding as a result of wave overtopping. At 00:30 on 11/02/2020‚ the tide is much lower, but may cause minor impacts. Wednesday morning's tide at 11:15 on 27/11/2019 is higher than normal due to ex Storm Sebastien which brings strong South Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.48 m. The total forecast tide is 5.42 metres Chart Datum (2.69 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, which could flood a small number of properties in this location. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will also flood. Any water in the road could be up to 0.2m deep. Tide levels remain high until Thursday evening (28/11/2019), but it is unlikely that further messages will be issued. We continue to monitor the forecast. The weather increases tide table values by 0.3 m (surge). The forecast tide is 5.38 metres Chart Datum (2.65 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will exceed the top of the slipway at Lower Quay, flooding a small number of properties. The road, at Wallington Shore Road, will also flood. Until Tuesday (01/10/2019)‚ tides are high enough to cause minor impacts at each high water. The largest impacts will occur on this tide. We continue to monitor the forecast.
