Langstone Harbour, The Solent
Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:15 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Southerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.76 m. The total forecast tide is 5.75 metres Chart Datum (3.02 mAOD) at Portsmouth. The tide will be the highest ever recorded. For 2 hours either side of high water, flooding will affect Southwood Road, Nutbourne Road and the bottom of Wheatlands Avenue. Langstone Harbour, The Solent
Friday morning's tide at 10:45 on 09/02/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 5 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.56 m. The total forecast tide is 5.24 metres Chart Datum (2.51 mAOD) at Portsmouth. The existing beach at South Hayling (towards Eastoke) is not as effective as normal, as previous storms have removed large amounts of shingle. The beach may struggle to reduce the impact of the large waves, and allow more water to push further up the beach than normal. For 1 hour either side of high tide, property at Eastoke corner, and Southwood Road may experience flooding. Overtopping of splash walls along the beach front may cause garden flooding. Beach huts at West Beach, near the Inn on the beach may be affected. The tide levels are elevated over the next 5 days. This may cause some impacts at each high water. We are liaising with the local authority over the condition of the beach. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. We will update this message by 14:00 on 09/02/2024.
