River Test
Water levels in the Lower Test at Romsey and Testwood are high but are now slowly falling. At the weekend, almost a month’s rainfall (50mm) was recorded at Romsey. Over the next 4 days, there will be a significant amount of water flooding land and fields from Timsbury to Romsey and at Broadlands and Testwood. Footpath flooding will affect Rivermead Close and the Memorial Park. At Romsey Industrial estate, water will pond on land near to Greatbridge Road. Further showers are expected today (17/02/2020) and through to Thursday (20/02/2020). At the very least, flood impacts are expected to continue until the weekend. We have deployed flood barrier at Riverside Gardens and Greatbridge. We are working today to protect property at Mainstone and Causeway. We may remove this Flood Warning tomorrow morning. Please remain prepared for continued flood impacts this week and avoid walking through flooded areas. This Flood Alert will be updated by 12:00 on 18/12/2020.

This is more than half a month’s rain and follows a prolonged wet winter. Currently, there is extensive out of bank flooding affecting fields, land, footpaths and gardens throughout Romsey and Testwood.
