The weather increases tide table values by 0.44 m. The total forecast tide is 3.66 metres Chart Datum (1.68 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub at Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and be impassable to traffic. Property flooding is not expected. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We recommend that all private defence gates are closed. Any cars parked at Saltgrass Lane will flood. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We will remove this message by 17:00 on 13/02/2020.

Monday evening's tide at 23:45 on 10/02/2020 and 02:03 on 11/02/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.41 m. The total forecast tide is 3.76 metres Chart Datum (1.78 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub at Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and be impassable to traffic. Property flooding is not expected. At 01:17 on 13/02/2020‚ the tide is similar. We may issue further advice on Wednesday. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We recommend that all private defence gates are closed. Any cars parked at Saltgrass Lane will flood. We will remove this message by 10:00 on 11/02/2020

Monday morning's tide at 11:12 on 10/02/2020 and 13:30 on 10/02/2020 is higher than normal due to Storm Ciara which brings strong South Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.5 m. The total forecast tide is 3.86 metres Chart Datum (1.88 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high tide, at Town Quay, footpath flooding will occur. Saltgrass Lane will be impassable to traffic. In Milford on Sea High Street, near the Smugglers Inn Pub, the river will increase with the tide and may come close to the top of the river bank. The tide will not flood property. At 23:45 on Monday (10/02/2020)‚ levels are lower, but similar impacts are expected. We'll issue further advice tomorrow. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, our defence gates will be closed 3 hours either side of high water. Private defence gates should be closed. Cars parked at Saltgrass Lane will flood. We will update this message by 16:00 on 10/02/2020

The weather increases tide table values by 0.65 m. The total forecast tide is 3.88 metres Chart Datum (1.90 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub, Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood, be impassable to cars and closed. In Milford on Sea High Street, near the Smugglers Inn Pub, the river will increase with the tide and may come close to the top of the river bank. The tide will not flood property. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We recommend that all private tidal defence gates are closed. We will remove this message by 12:00 on 15/01/2020

For 1 hour either side of high tide, water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub, Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and be impassable to traffic. In Milford on Sea High Street, near the Smugglers Inn Pub, the river will increase with the tide and may rise close to the top of the river bank. Property flooding is not expected. Tides remain relatively high until Saturday (30/11/2019), but further flood alert messages will not be issued. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. All private defence gates should be closed. The weather increases tide table values by 0.37 m. The forecast tide is 3.77 metres Chart Datum (1.79 mAOD) at Lymington. For 30 minutes either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn Pub at Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and will become impassable to traffic. Property flooding is not expected. At 10:35 on Wednesday 27/11/2019‚ the forecast tide will be even higher. We'll issue further advice tomorrow. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We recommend that all private defence gates are closed. We will update this message by 15:00 on 26/11/2019.

For 30 minutes either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub at Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and be impassable to traffic. Property flooding is not expected. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected and levels will return to normal. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We recommend that all private defence gates are also closed. We will remove this Flood Alert by 18:00 on 02/11/2019.

Sunday morning's tide at 11:36 on 29/09/2019 and 13:59 on 29/09/2019 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.32 m (surge). The forecast tide is 3.80 metres Chart Datum (1.82 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub, Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and be impassable to traffic. At the bottom of Milford on Sea High Street, river levels could rise to bankfull. Property flooding is not expected. Until Tuesday (01/10/2019)‚ tides are high enough to cause minor impacts at each high water. The largest impacts will occur on this tide. To protect property, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we are closing our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high tide. Private tidal defence gates should also be closed. Keep away from the sea front over high tide. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 29/09/2019

Wednesday morning's tide at 10:05 on 07/11/2018 and 12:17 on 7/11/2018 is higher than normal as unsettled weather brings strong southerly force 7 winds and heavy rain. The tide will be similar to that recorded in early January this year. Property flooding is not expected, but for an hour either side of high water, coastal roads at Keyhaven will flood and levels will be high at Milford on Sea near the Smugglers Inn pub. The weather increases tide table values by 0.46 m (surge) giving a forecast tide of 3.84 metres Chart Datum (1.86 mAOD) at Lymington. Tide levels remain high until Saturday, but are much closer to normal high spring tide values, with only minor impacts expected. We are closing our tidal defence gates from Keyhaven to Lymington three hours either side of time of high water. Cars should not park on the sea front at Keyhaven. This message will be removed by 07/11/2018 16:00:00 as further significant impacts from the tide are not currently expected.

At Town Quay Lymington, near the Ship Inn pub, water may leak through the defence gates flooding parking areas. Environment Agency staff will be on site to pump water back over the defence wall to protect property. At Saltgrass Lane, Keyhaven the road will flood and cars should not park there. Our tidal defence gates from Keyhaven to Lymington will be closed three hours either side of high water. At Town Quay, near the Ship Inn pub, water may leak through the defence gates flooding parking areas. Environment Agency staff will be on site to over pump water and protect property. At Saltgrass Lane, Keyhaven the road will flood so cars should not be park there. This Flood Alert will be removed by 1600hrs on Saturday 21/10/17 when coastal conditions will have returned to normal.
