For 1 hour either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn pub at Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood and be completely impassable to traffic. Property flooding is not expected. After this tide‚ the weather becomes more settled‚ so levels will reduce and no further impacts are expected. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that all private defence gates are closed. Any cars parked at Saltgrass Lane will flood. We will remove this message by 18:00 on 20/10/2024.

The weather increases tide table values by 0.65 m. The total forecast tide is 3.95 metres Chart Datum (1.97 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high water, coastal roads at Keyhaven and Lymington will flood. At the Ship Inn Pub, the footpath will flood. In Milford on Sea High Street and near to the Smugglers Inn pub at Sea Road, the river will rise with the tide. Water levels could exceed the top of the river bank and cause garden and footpath flooding for a short period of time. After this tide the weather becomes more settled but minor impacts could continue until Thursday (11/04/2024). We will close our tidal defence gates at Keyhaven and Lymington 3 hours either side of high water and will install drop boards by the RNLI station. We recommend that all private defence gates are closed. Any cars parked at Saltgrass Lane will flood. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 09/04/2024.
