Friday afternoon's tide at 13:45 on 21/08/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.37 m (surge). The forecast tide is 5.24 metres Chart Datum (2.51 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 30 minutes either side of high water, the tide could exceed the top of the main slipway causing minor flooding to the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. Minor flooding at Eastern Parade is also expected. At the lower end of Wallington Shore Road, flood water could pond in the road up to a depth of 0.1m. No property flooding is expected. After this tide‚ the weather is more settled and no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at the lower end of Wallington Shore Road over the high tide period. We will remove this message by 17:00 on 21/08/2020.

At Portsmouth, Thursday's early morning tide at 00:45 on 12/03/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.24m. The total forecast tide is 5.20 metres Chart Datum (2.47mAOD). On Thursday afternoon, at 13:00 on 12/03/2020, there will be strong Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather will increase tide table values by 0.32m. The forecast tide is 5.24 metres Chart Datum (2.51 mAOD). For both of these tides, impacts will be similar and minor. For 30 minutes either side of high water, the tide could exceed the top of the main slipway and flood the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The lower end of Wallington Shore Road, will also experience minor impact flooding. After tomorrow‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at the lower end of Wallington Shore Road during high tide. We will remove this message by 17:00 on 12/03/2020.

Wednesday afternoon's tide at 12:15 on 11/03/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.31 m. The total forecast tide is 5.33 metres Chart Datum (2.60 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water may just exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The lower part of the road at Wallington Shore Road may also experience minor impact flooding. Tide levels remain slightly elevated on Thursday 12/03/2020 at 13:00 (though a little lower in height). Minor impacts could occur then. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at the lower end of Wallington Shore Road. The total forecast tide is 5.19 metres Chart Datum (2.46 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water may just exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will flood to a depth of 0.2m. Spray and debris could affect the A27 at Portchester. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will remove this message by 17:00 on 13/02/2020

Tuesday's very early morning tide at 00:30 on 11/02/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.34 m. The total forecast tide is 5.18 metres Chart Datum (2.45 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water may just exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road may also see very minor flood impacts. On Wednesday (12/02/2020) we may issue further advice for the forecast tide at 02:00 on Thursday 13/02/2020. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will remove this message by 10:00 on 11/02/2020

Monday afternoon's tide at 12:00 on 10/02/2020 is higher than normal due to Storm Ciara which brings South Westerly Gale Force 8 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.6 m. The total forecast tide is 5.44 metres Chart Datum (2.71 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high water, In Portchester, water will be very high up slipways and spray overtopping of sea defence walls is expected. Shingle and debris from overtopping will affect the A27 Southampton Road. In Fareham, at Town Quay, the tide is just enough to flood property and a Flood Warning is in force. The road at Eastern Parade will also flood. At 00:30 on 11/02/2020‚ the tide is lower, but may cause minor impacts and so we may issue further advice tomorrow. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road. If you have it, install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. We will update this message by 16:00 on 10/02/2020.

The weather increases tide table values by 0.67 m. The total forecast tide is 5.34 metres Chart Datum (2.61 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water will exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. Water could come close to property in this location. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will flood to a depth of 0.2m. Spray and debris could affect the A27 at Portchester. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road. At Lower Quay, flood protection could be installed if you have it. The total forecast tide is 5.42 metres Chart Datum (2.69 mAOD) at Portsmouth. A Flood Warning is in force for Fareham, as isolated property flooding may occur in this location. For 1 hour either side of high water, in Portchester, water will be high up slipways and spray overtopping of sea defence walls is expected. Debris and shingle could affect the A27 Southampton Road. Tide levels remain high until Thursday evening (28/11/2019), but it is unlikely that further messages will be issued. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that cars do not park at the bottom of Wallington Shore Road. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 27/11/2019.

The forecast tide is 5.35 metres Chart Datum (2.62 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water may just exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will flood to a depth of 0.2m. Minor overtopping could affect the A27 at Portchester. At 11:15 on Wednesday 27/11/2019‚ the forecast tide will be even higher. We'll issue further advice tomorrow. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road. We continue to monitor the forecast. We will update this message by 15:00 on 26/11/2019

Tuesday afternoon's tide at 13:45 on 01/10/2019 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.28 m (surge). The forecast tide is 5.30 metres Chart Datum (2.57 mAOD) at Portsmouth. In magnitude, tide levels are similar to those recorded on Sunday lunchtime. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water may just exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will also flood to a depth of 0.2m. After this tide‚ the weather becomes more settled and no further impacts are expected along the south coast. We continue to monitor forecasts and levels. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road as they will be surrounded by tidal water. At Lower Quay, flood protection could be installed as a precautionary measure. We will remove this message by 18:00 on 01/10/2019

The weather increases tide table values by 0.3 m (surge). The forecast tide is 5.38 metres Chart Datum (2.65 mAOD) at Portsmouth. For 1 hour either side of high tide, water may just exceed the top of the main slipway, flooding the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. A Flood Warning is being issued for specific impacts in this location. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will also flood to a depth of 0.2m. Overtopping could affect the A27 at Portchester. Until Tuesday (01/10/2019) ‚ tides are high enough to cause minor impacts at each high water. The largest impacts will occur on this tide. We continue to monitor forecasts and levels. We recommend that cars do not park at Wallington Shore Road. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 29/09/2019

Wednesday morning's tide at 10:45 on 07/11/2018 is higher than normal as unsettled weather brings strong southerly force 7 winds and large waves. Levels will be similar to those recorded in January this year. For an hour either side of high water, the tide may just exceed the top of the main slipway and flood into the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will also flood. Overtopping could affect the A27 at Portchester. The weather increases tide table values by 0.40 m (surge) giving a forecast tide of 5.32 metres Chart Datum (2.59 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Tide levels remain high until Saturday but are unlikely to cause impacts. We continue to monitor levels and forecasts. This message will be removed by 07/11/2018 at 16:00 as further significant impacts are not expected.

On Saturday, Storm Brian brings strong winds and large waves up to 3m. It is possible that actual tide levels might be 0.1m higher than forecast. At time of high tide water may flood up the slipways and into the road at Town Quay. The very bottom of Wallington Shore Road may also flood. No property flooding is expected. Keep away from the exposed coast over high tide. This Flood Alert will be removed around 1600hrs on 21/10/2017 when coastal conditions will have returned to normal.
