Wednesday morning's tide at 10:45 on 07/11/2018 is higher than normal as unsettled weather brings strong southerly force 7 winds and large waves. Levels will be similar to those recorded in January this year. For an hour either side of high water, the tide may just exceed the top of the main slipway and flood into the road at Lower Quay, Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will also flood. Overtopping could affect the A27 at Portchester. The weather increases tide table values by 0.40 m (surge) giving a forecast tide of 5.32 metres Chart Datum (2.59 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Tide levels remain high until Saturday but are unlikely to cause impacts. We continue to monitor levels and forecasts. This message will be removed by 07/11/2018 at 16:00 as further significant impacts are not expected.

The forecast tide tomorrow lunchtime is much higher than experienced today. At time of high water the tide may flood up the slipways and into the road at Town Quay in Fareham. The bottom of Wallington Shore Road will also flood. No property flooding is expected. Keep away from the water front at high tide. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on 04/01/2018. On Saturday, Storm Brian brings strong winds and large waves up to 3m. It is possible that actual tide levels might be 0.1m higher than forecast. At time of high tide water may flood up the slipways and into the road at Town Quay. The very bottom of Wallington Shore Road may also flood. No property flooding is expected. Keep away from the exposed coast over high tide. This Flood Alert will be removed around 1600hrs on 21/10/2017 when coastal conditions will have returned to normal.
