The weather increases tide table values by 0.76m. The total forecast tide is 5.75 metres Chart Datum (3.02 mAOD) at Portsmouth. The tide could be the highest ever recorded. For 2 hours either side of high water, Langstone High Street, Ship Inn Pub, Mill Lane, Langstone, South Street, Queen Street and A259 Junction of Lumley Road (Emsworth) will flood. Flood depths will be significant. The tide will flood into the road at Bridge Road car park, Western Parade, Bridgefoot Path and Bath Road. After this tide the weather becomes more settled but minor impacts could continue until Thursday (11/04/2024). Today and tomorrow, tide levels and wave heights remain slightly elevated. As a precautionary measure, we recommend that flood protection is left in place for high tide at 12:45 (11/02/2020). In the early hours of Thursday morning (13/02/2020) at 02:00, the tide level at Portsmouth is higher than normal. Tomorrow (Wednesday 12/02/2020), if the forecast tide level has increased, then we might issue another Flood Alert for minor impact flooding. Tuesday's very early morning tide at 00:30 on 11/02/2020 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 7 winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.34 m. The total forecast tide is 5.18 metres Chart Datum (2.45 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Impacts will be relatively minor and confined to the immediate sea front. For 30 minutes either side of high tide, water will be high at South Street and Queen Street, Emsworth. The Ship Inn car park, Langstone will flood. Water will flow into the bottom third of Langstone High Street but flood depths will be relatively shallow. On Wednesday (12/02/2020) we may issue further advice for the forecast tide at 02:00 on Thursday 13/02/2020. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide tonight and we also recommend that it is installed tomorrow lunchtime for high tide at 12:45 (11/02/2020). Sunday evening's tide at 23:45 on 09/02/2020 is affected by Storm Ciara which brings strong Force 7 Westerly winds and large waves. The weather increases tide table values by 0.29 m. The total forecast tide is 5.02 metres Chart Datum (2.29 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Tide levels are not overly high and waves are 1m lower than experienced this morning, but for 1 hour either side of high water, some minor impact flooding may affect The Promenade, South Street and Queen Street, Emsworth and immediate harbour side properties at Langstone. At 12:00 on Monday 10/02/2020‚ the tide will be higher. A Flood Warning is in force for this tide. To help protect property, we have installed drop boards and lowered the pond level in Emsworth. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. We will update this message by 16:00 on 10/02/2020.

The total forecast tide is 5.02 metres Chart Datum (2.29 mAOD) at Portsmouth. Tide levels are not overly high, but for 1 to 2 hours either side of high water, large waves may affect The Promenade, South Street and Queen Street, Emsworth. In Langstone, immediate harbour side properties in the High Street, near to and including The Royal Oak pub could also see impacts. At 12:00 on Monday 10/02/2020‚ the tide will be much higher and could cause property flooding. We'll issue further advice.
